Swimming with LO?

Anyone know when you can swim with LO? I remember the doctor telling us babies skin is so delicate and to not use lotion for the first few weeks so I'm wondering if a chlorine pool would hurt their skin? We are going to a nice hotel for 3 nights and LO is 5 1/2 weeks. Thoughts?

I wouldn't do it that early. I'd wait till at least 2-3 months.

things i've seen say 6 months but I would ask your pedi to be sure. Personally, I wouldn't do it with LO being so young.

In my area swimming lessons don't start until after the first round of shots... So around 3 months.

DS1 went for the first time at 12 weeks. DS2 yesterday at 7 weeks. Our provider said to make sure baby stayed warm enough and to rinse off the chlorine. It had no impact on their skin.

I wouldn't take LO in a hotel pool. They tend to have a higher chlorine level since they're dealing with the public and health codes. I would take my DS in my parent's pool since it's a salt pool and has an extremely low amount of chemicals.
