Anyone with this problem? I have an u/s scheduled to look at my gallbladder on Monday. Apparently the type of acid reflux I am experiencing is not normal... I sure hope we can get it under control so I can start gaining weight for my baby again! I have had to cut out all fat from my diet to help and now that isn't even working. I hate to complain but I am in so much pain and I wanted to hear some good news stories.

Re: Gallbladder Problems
I never had issues with my gallbladder pre-pregnancy, but in the past 3 weeks I've had about 5 attacks. It's horrible, so I completely understand your pain. I've also had to cut out all fat and spice from my diet (and I was already dairy free previously due to an allergy) so I'm down to chicken, turkey, fruits, and vegetables...
So far, I've been able to manage my symptoms with the diet changes and I hope that continues to be the case. Sorry your symptoms aren't being helped by diet changes. Hope you get some relief soon.
eesh, I'm glad to hear you ladies raise this, I had a couple of attacks before my last pregnancy and actually postponed treatments b/c my doctor told me I should let issues resolve first. This tells me I have to be really vigilant.
I'm going to ask my acupuncturist if there's anything she can do to help me avoid attacks...will keep you posted.
I dont' have a gallbladder anymore but have gotten flares of pain throughout my pregnancy (and before) - the pain you feel from your gallbladder actually comes from your pancreas.... so taking your gallbladder doesn't always mean relief. But if you're having stone issues (like if they had you cut fats because they are making you spit stones into your common bile duct...) then you might get some relief. ANYWAY, i'd say avoid rich foods and sugary foods. If you get pain, a good fist applying pressure just under the sternum can give some relief. Good luck.
edit - heating pads helped me too. I remember putting the heating pad on my back and shoving the fist into my pain spot and would stay that way for hours at times until it passed. it wasn't until i couldn't walk and crawled out of the bedroom that i finally went the hospital....i was in bad shape and was admitted for over a week before they could take my gallbladder out. awful! I really hope you don't experience anything like that....
