DS2 is a huge BF baby...like 16 pounds and 25 inches at 2 months. I think I make breast cream instead of milk lol. Well we both love our Gemini and I use it for a few hours most days of the week. The problem is that I get pubic bone pain if I wear him too much. It will actually wake me up at night.
What am I doing wrong? I wore DS1 until after he was 2 and stopped when I was 5 months pregnant. I never had this pain with him.
Is it due to being recently pregnant? I know there's probably some relaxin floating around.
Is it the carrier itself? I wore DS1 in an ergo or kinder pack, but those feel a little bulky to me.
Any advice?
Re: Pelvic pain w BW
Hmm...could be that you have some lingering pelvic floor issues from pregnancy. Wearing (or just holding baby or anything else heavy) can make that worse. Have you done any work to strengthen your core and pelvic floor? I definitely noticed things didn't "bounce back" as easily the second time.
Are you sure the pain is just from wearing? I'm wondering if it is a weak core and pelvic floor if any activity contributes the to the pain. If you only notice it on days that you babywear....
Could be that the carrier needs adjusting? Do you feel comfortable while wearing?

PPs questions are all good ones.
To add a personal tale (that may or may not apply to you depending on your answers to PP's questions): I had pelvic instability that started when PG with DS and then got increasingly worse for 7 months post-partum. This started off with what is commonly referred to as pubis symphysis disorder or pelvic gidle pain. I had a very extreme form of it.
For me, carrying DS in-arms was incredibly painful with my PI. Wearing made it possible to function, but only in a woven wrap and only certain carries that really distributed his weight across my whole torso (I blogged about it here). SSCs (like the Beco) really caused my pain to flare up. Also, things like pushing a shopping cart or stroller were extremely stressful to my pelvis.
