Baby Showers

3 Hostess Gifts

I have 3 people hosting my baby shower. What would be a reasonably priced gift for each of them?

Re: 3 Hostess Gifts

  • A heartfelt thank you card and making them/treating them for lunch one day in a one-on-one or one-on-three setting and not talking about baby/shower/pregnancy stuff.  Make it a lunch all about them.

Seriously, giving a gift for them giving a gift is getting ridiculous.   If I found out that I planned a shower for someone (which I would do because I wanted to, not because I felt like I had to) and they went out and dropped a ton of cash to give me a gift thanking me for my gift to them, I'd be buggered.

  • What do they like?

I like giftcards.  Pick an amount you can afford and choose a store/restaurant you know they shop/eat at.  I always like getting giftcards for Bath & Body Works, Starbucks, or Barnes & Noble.

I also like getting flowers or edible arrangements delivered.

Most importantly, I think that the thank you note is much more meaningful and important than the hostess gift.  Make sure you take the time to tell each of them how much their support means to you.

  • I'm planning to give these sets with a thank you card: https://www.sephora.com/thank-you-set-P285142   I thought they were cute.

  • Techniqually my FMIL was the "host"of my shower, my mom also helped a ton so we did a gift for both of them.

Neither of them are big spa/pampering people so we got them each a practical small gift that they would use often and a nice thank-you card (lol plus they were both in the room when DD was born, there's there gift lol kidding!).

We spent about $20 on each of them, we got FMIL a really nice travel coffee mug and a gift certificate for the gas station that she gets coffee at every morning. We got my mom a fancy citrus zester (back ground story being every holiday season, since I can remember, my mom bitches about how she lost her zester while she's making her cheesecake... she has never ever owned a zester lmao, so we got her one!).

Little thoughtful gifts, they really appreciated them and it showed that we put thought into what they would like/use vs. just a generic "grandma" gift or something.
