Pregnant after IF

Question from a wannabe!

Hi Ladies! I lurk over here in the hopes that one day I'll get to join you, but for now, I'm on TTTC and Infertility.

I was looking for any experience with only transferring one embryo. DH and I are kind of terrified of twins, but we want to have the best chance at a successful cycle. Have any of you had successful one-embryo transfers? Unsuccessful? Tried one and wished you had done two?

Any thoughts/input is appreciated! Thanks ladies!

Re: Question from a wannabe!

  • I transferred only 1! I did not want twins, so I did not put 2 back in. My chances of twins was very high & I did not want to risk it.

  • Thanks for weighing in ladies! It's definitely a personal decision and we're going to wait to see the quality of things before deciding on a number. Obviously we want to have the best odds of a successful cycle, but we don't want to be overwhelmed either!

  • I transferred two both times, but on my second go-around (FET #1), it may as well have only been one because the second wasn't great quality.

I have seen many ladies have success with single transfers! GL!

  • We transferred only one. If we hadn't made it to 5 day blasts, we probably would have transferred two. Since we had two high quality blasts to chose from, we chose to freeze the other and it worked. Good luck!
