Reading to LO

Can I just say that I LOVE reading to her... Especially on days that I work, I can come home, give her a bath, feed her, and then have our quiet reading time. She looks at the pictures, reaches for them, and strokes the page. Then, every once in a while, she'll turn her head and watch me talk... So darn cute.

    DD loves books too.  It's so amazing.  It really seemed to happen overnight at about 2.5 months.  What are your LO's favorite's?  DD loves The Runaway Bunny, Kisses Kisses Baby-O, and Barnyard Dance.

    I ordered a lot of board books from Scholastic when I was teaching K last year.  I think I like children's books better than "grown-up books".

    I read to her this huge book of classic fairytales, I Love You More, this Bedtime Rhymes book, the ABC's of How I Love You, and I have a bunch of random character board books,,, care bears, little mermaid, Dr. Suess, etc.. As long as the pages are colorful she loves them!

    I really need to start reading to DD more. She didn't seem to take interest before so she'd start squirming and fussing before I'd get through a book. Now though, she likes to touch the pictures and likes it more I find. Really should get on that... :/

    I wish DD was more receptive to it, but she doesn't seem very interested (not even in seeing the pictures!). She even fusses sometimes when I try to read to her :(

    We have soooooooo many books and I've always dreamed of reading to my baby... Maybe she'll grow into it?

    I love reading to him. I try to read a book to him during the day and DH reads a book to him as part of the bedtime routine. 

    I'm always on the lookout for new books to add to our library and acquiring my faves from my childhood.

    We have a ton of board books that we got for our showers.  When I was home we would read a book every am and now we do it on the weekends.  I usually put her in the rock n play facing me and show her the pics when I read.  She LOVES it.  She smiles and squeals and trys to get the pics.  If she gets fussy we pull out a book and it usually makes her happy.

    Yes  Cute! The first books she was interested in had a lot of contrast too (her black and white one she stared at forever!)  Have you tried singing the words to the book to him?  It was totally an overnight thing when DD got interested in books.

    The "Good Night World" series books are a huge hit at our house! We buy them wherever we go on vacation!

    O loves books now and is grabbing the pages, trying to eat it, etc.  A mostly still would rather look at my face, but he enjoys mommy time so it's all good. I can't wait until they can sit up better on their own so I can read to them at the same time easier.  So much fun!  My mom gave me a bunch of books from when I was a kid and I really do remember some of them.
