Come in if you were induced!

Alright ladies, little man has a few more days to come on his own as my induction has been scheduled for Monday. I am to come in Sunday evening for cervical ripening (as I havent gone beyond 1 cm in weeks). I assume this is with Cervadil. This is a dumb question, but did your DH stay the night with you if you went in for something like this? I just know there is no where for him to sleep if he came and stayed with me all night! Obviously he would need to be there for when I start to make progress. Just curious what others experienced?

Re: Come in if you were induced!

  • I didn't need cervadil, but if I had, DH would have stayed.  At our hospital both the L&D and the recovery rooms had an armchair that pulled out into a twin bed for the SO.  Are you sure there would be nowhere for him to sleep?
  • Loading the player...
  • We did cervadil as outpatients.. So we put it in and monitored for an hour and got sent home to comeback in24 hours or when something happened

From what I remember last time from the L&D rooms, I dont recall a reclining chair. I could be wrong though. The scheduler is supposed to call me with details tomorrow so I plan to ask then. I am sure he wont want to leave me, but Id hate for both of us to not get any sleep.....especially if he cant be comfortable. I know for sure the post partum/Mother Baby unit has a pull our chair/couch though.

  • Our hospital has an extra bed in the room that folds out. The couch also works as a bed too.

  • I had cervadil, cytotec, and pitocin and my DH and Mom were there with me from Friday to Sunday overnights included. There was a chair and a couch to sleep in/on and usually one of them was awake with me since I didn't sleep much.
