Agree with PP. L and D thinks it is true and they see more people pregnant than I do. My mom had me on a full moon and said there were ladies everyone that were labor at the hospital. They didn't have enough rooms.
My water broke with DD during a blue moon. We already had picked out her name, Luna, so it was just an uncanny coincidence. Also during the August blue moon when I was 35 weeks, I was woken up by strong braxton hicks, so I believe it.
I think it may be all in our heads, but L&D nurses swear by it.
This! At our hospital appointment today, both of our nurses said they were so thankful they weren't working this weekend! I'm hoping our LO waits until our scheduled c-section Monday though!!

I for one feel very affected by full moons so Im going to have to say that I believe it. I am really hoping that he comes out soon, hopefully full moon time! lol.
I def believe in it but am hoping it doesn't work for me!! I need this LO to stay put until her CS...MIL won't be arriving until Tuesday to watch DS and I don't want to have to find childcare for him...and DH has a ton of work to do still.
I do think weird things happen with full moons. I'm an ER nurse and we get the oddest patient presentations during full moons. That being said, with DS I zoomed right past a full moon and never went into labor. Fingers crossed I don't go into labor for this one. We're not ready yet!
I work on the postpartum floor and YES, this is true. We also had a storm front move through this morning and we are now full -- as in, we have no more rooms left for moms. It happens about once a month -- guess what else happens about once a month!?
Since I'm 36 and 3, I'm crossing my legs, putting my feet up and doing everything possible to keep LO exactly where he is for at least a couple more weeks!

My mom had a baby last year (young mom, long story) and her water broke on a full moon, but a storm also moved in as well that night. Her doctors chalked it up to the pressure change from the full moon and the storm because her water broke and then nothing,...she ended up having a c-section 24 hrs later because she wasn't having any contractions or labor progression.

I believe it. I don't know why it affects more than others but the moon must have something to do with it. I was hoping to go into labor this weekend but nothing going on yet
My uncle is a paramedic, and says they see an increase in call for everything on full moons. So, if there are more other medical emergencies, I wouldn't see why births would be an exception to the rule!
I don't think it's proven or anything, but with DS I did go into labor the night of a full moon and a snowstorm, so part of me feels like the barometric pressure/moon helped out.

Me too. It would be nice.
