I'm doing the Jane Austin DVD at home since I have no time to work a class into my schedule. I really like it! At first I thought it was lame but now that I'm getting bigger I can totally feel it and was even sore after the last one. Enjoy!
I absolutely LOVE my prenatal yoga class. It's at a regular yoga studio, but they take their prenatal pretty seriously, and offer all sorts of workshops and childbirth classes that incorporate yoga.
It can be hard, especially as I am getting bigger, but I can definitely see how doing yoga helps my aches and pains now and how it will help during labor.
FWIW, my 75 minute class usually includes:
centering + cat-cow (10 minutes)
a vinyassa-style flow with lots of lunges and warrior positions (25 minutes)
2 discomfort practices - dolphin pose + wall squats (3 sets of 1 minute each for each pose). DPs HURT, but they are the most beneficial part - they are designed to (1) strengthen a muscle group that you need (upper arms, thighs), and (2) teach you how to handle extreme discomfort for 1 minute (the length of the average contraction). (15 minutes)
I took my first class this week. While I was doing it I felt I wasn't doing much at all and wondered if it was worth it, but afterwards I was sore! I guess I was doing more than I thought. I would suggest it for sure.
