Does everyone take a glucose test? I keep reading and hearing about this test between 22and 24 weeks, but my doc hasn't ever mentioned it! My next appt is at 25 weeks...

Just wondering if it's a universal thing, or if only certain people get the test?

Your OB may bring it up at your next appointment. According to my OB, I will not take this test until I am at 28 weeks or sooner.

I had mine last week (@ 22 weeks). My OB requested the two hour test.

Maybe ask your doctor at your next visit if they recommend them. I will have mine at 27 weeks and as far as I know everyone gets it.

I think it's most common at the 28 week appointment but I'm not sure because my OB didn't mention it and that's my next appointment.

Pretty sure everyone gets this test done. My doctor doesnt give it until the 28 week appointment.

It is recommended for everyone, the only exception being if you were diabetic to begin with, then there's no reason for it. I got it done at 26w.

my DR told me it's between 24-28 weeks - i went for my 23 week appt and they gave me the form to go get it done in the next few weeks.

As far as I know all pregnant women have the test done. Typical time frame is between 24 and 30 weeks. It will vary depending on your doctor. Some offices do the typical 1 hour test whereas others have started to do a 2hr version. The 3hr test is if you fail the 1hr.

Any pregnant woman can have GD, there really isn't a certain "group" that gets it.

My dr hadn't mentioned it until my appointment at 24 weeks. That's when he gave me the glucola (I'll drink it at home and then head to the lab for the blood draw) and instructions. I'm to do it after 26 weeks so I'll probably shoot for Monday just to get it done.

Mine was on Monday. Like PP said everyone gets it unless you already have diabetes. If you feel sick after drinking the stuff don't worry it's normal and it doesn't mean that you failed, I felt sick and passed.

At my doctor appt today she scheduled me to take it 2 weeks from now, when I'm 28 weeks. This was the first time she had mentioned it so I'm sure your ob will bring it up really soon

This. They pushed my next appointment back an extra week so I will be 25 weeks and don't have to come in just to take it. Unless you are high risk for it (i.e. previously having it), or having symptoms.

Everyone gets it! Timing is the question. I was 8 wks when I had mine; im not diabetic but I have PCOS and they watch certain things with a closer eye!
