Nearby Parks for Picnic

Hey Gals, tomorrow is our anniversary and DH took the day off. Since going out to a restaurant can sometimes be more stress than it's worth with DD I thought it might be nice to go to a nearby park and have a picnic. I don't know too many parks in the area and am looking for one with a good amount of shade. Any recommendations?

I don't know if its too far for you but Quiet Waters in Annapolis is awesome.

Centennial Park in Ellicott City is very nice too. One of my favorites! Tons of trees, a lake, plenty of places to picnic, and a very nice playground. It's not far from Hanover at all, about 15 min.

Mine too - there isalso Kinder Farm Park in Pasadena

Lake Elkhorn in Columbia is also nice and has a playground too.

If you are in Hanover there is a great park right by the airport off the B and A trail. It's not pretty but my DD LOVES planes and they fly right over head! It's right past Cancun Cantina if you know where that is.
