I am about 7 and a half weeks along. Before pregnancy, I had a normal BMI. I weighed myself today, and I've gained almost five pounds since conceiving. I was really surprised because I don't think my stomach/body looks much bigger, if at all. The only thing that looks bigger to me is my boobs, which were big to start with and are now getting enormous.
I read in my pregnancy book that you are only supposed to gain max 5 pounds during the first tri. (You also only gain a pound in your boobs total in pregnancy, so obviously my weight isn't just from that.) I think I'm on track for more than 5 pounds first tri, but I don't know where the weight is coming from.
Any of you having this issue or are you staying on track?
Re: How much weight have you gained?
Check out my Team Green baby names! P.S. I'm not serious with any of the names

I am still in my normal fluctuation range, but then I'm only 6 weeks. I can tell that my boobs are getting heavier though, and the bloat was pretty bad last night (although I fit into my jeans this morning so that makes me happy!).
Last pregnancy I gained 30 overall before I went on bed rest the last two weeks, when I gained an additional 15 lbs of water weight. I lost all but 10 lbs in the first ten days after giving birth. Hoping to keep total weight gain to 25 this time. Last time my MW said gain no more than 10 in the first 20 weeks.

Just keep swimming.
This for me exactly. Every woman is so so different! Just try to stay active and maintain a healthy diet, and then you're doing your part. The rest is up to your body, believe me! I wouldn't stress over it.

I am not heavy (in my mind) either and I have gained about 4lbs. That is probably due to not working out as well, eating, and slow digestive tract. Don't worry about it, you get energy in your second trimester and I think it evens out. I gained about 10 in my first trimester before and then only slowly put on actual baby weight during my second trimester. I just feel like crap this time around and sometimes eating is the only thing that feels better.
I've lost weight again, so far about 5lbs. Last time I lost 10lbs in first tri due to nausea and walking a lot at work. This time, I'm nursing DS, so I think my body has been burning a lot of calories, I've started eating more to try to keep up. M/S hasn't even started yet, it probably will in another week.
ETA: I am at a healthy BMI and not overweight. When the scale showed me down 8 lbs a few days ago I got a little worried and started eating more, also switched DS to one formula bottle a day so that I can save some of those calories. I know my OB will not be happy with me if I've lost that much weight this early on, they weren't happy last time.
According to my scale at home, I'm down a pound. My first appt with my OB, I was 7 lbs heavier on their scale. I haven't been eating as much as I should be, due to m/s & lack of appetite, but things will be better in the 2nd trimester.
With my last pregnancy, I gained 45 & lost 30 of those pounds in the first 3 weeks PP (definitely water retention). I was also on pelvic rest from weeks 20-32 due to placenta previa, I'm hoping that will not be the case this time around!

I gained 45lbs with DD. I used to be so tiny and then gained all that weight. I was naive. My MW told me she would like to see me gain more than 35lbs because of how little I was. So I ate and ate and didn't worry about it. I obviously went about it incorrectly and won't be makin that mistake again! I'm exercising and eating better this time around! That was a very depressing first year with my postpartum body.

Lost about 4 pounds right away, gained 2 of it back per my last appointment on Friday. I'm sure some of that can be accounted for in normal flux. Due to bloat it feels like I've gained more though!
Carbs are one of the only things that sit well right now, so I'm just trying to make smart choices with my diet so I don't pack on the weight now. I'd rather gain with healthier foods when I'm able to stomach them (hopefully in a few weeks).
I am 9 weeks, 4 days and I have gained just under 4 pounds... no ms, and no energy to exercise (or stay up past 9pm)...
the dr isn't concerned, and at this point, neither am I!!!
