I am 38 that's why I took the test *plus* they lowered the cost of the test and out of pocket it $235.

For that cost plus 99% accuracy for downs and to find out the sex we did it.

Get the results next week!

Its a newer blood test that tests for Down syndrome, and since it's a genetic test they can also find out the gender.

Its only been out for about 10 months. Insurance wont cover but if you call the makers - they will tell you they lowered the out of pocket cost for moms so its more affordable.

I bet in a few years it will be covered and it will be used much more then it is now.

They told me that they could find out the sex from the test but they would not because it was not medically necessary. I feel cheated. I have to wait for my AS next week.

That is really strange. My Ob nurse called with the results and flat out asked me "do you want to know what you are having?" I guess it depends on when you had the test done. I heard that they just started offering the gender results at the beginning on September.

We paid $235. What did you pay?

My neighbor had it in July and the cost was higher at that point (according to the people who make the test told me that) my neighbor paid $485.00 in July and did not find out the sex.
