Numb hands

Anyone else experiencing numbness in their hands? I asked OB about this & was told that it's carpal tunnel syndrome & has to do with blood flow issues. She said just make sure not to prop yourself up, etc. I have to tell you it's really bad to wake up every morning with numb, tingling hands.

Just wondering if I'm the only one??

Re: Numb hands

  • I started having this about 2 weeks ago. My OB said the same thing. It sucks! The right hand is worse than the left and they're both worse at night, when I can't control how I position them. No tips or suggestions. I'm just looking forward to delivery day so that I can start putting pregnancy symptoms behind me.

  • I have suffered from carpal tunnel in the past, although not pregnancy related.  I slept in wrist braces, and that helped a lot.

  • I had that the entire second half of my pregnancy. My babies are 3 months old and I still have issues with numb hands and feet and swollen tendons in my wrist. My OB keeps saying it will eventually go away but I wonder how long it will take.

  • I had it as well during preg. I don't remember when it got better, but I don't have any more problems now.

  • Yes, I had that. It got progressively worse and was gone the day after delivery.
