Now that I have DD, everyone I know keeps suggesting I do online dating. Don't worry though, I'm not going to even attempt dating for a long long time!!! That is probably one of the furthest things from my mind right now! But it did get wondering how often online dating even works out. Did any of you ever try it?

I did EHarmony and met a nice, rich, good looking, too good to be true guy. LOL...he gave me jewelry, which I gave back, I had some fun and we broke up after a few months. He wasn't completely honest and I don't like that. The dinner dates were fun though.

It's how I met SO. It's no scarier to meet someone from online than it is someone in a coffee shop of at a festival. Same stranger different circumstance.

My sister met her husband online, one of my nephews met his,wife online. He's 25. My other nephew who is 21 met a gf online, went overseas to see her. The,only reason they didn't work out is,because of the distance.

I also went to highschool with someone who met their husband online playing a video game.

I guess my family is pretty unique haha.

I met my dh on a cheesy online 'dating' site like 7 years ago, so it worked for me. I know people it's worked for, and people who haven't had any luck. You just need to be careful, but you do with any dating.

Many of my good friends have met their husbands online. I think if you don't happen to meet someone through school or work and you've exhausted the 'friends of friends,' it's a great option.

I met my husband through chat using IRC. I was not NOT illegally downloading movies...

And we're still married, seven years later. I recommend it.

That's great it actually works out for some people! I've always wondered about that, so thanks for responding. I agree with PP that it wouldn't be too scary, since a stranger is a stranger either way.

To the PP that had to get a restraining order, what happened there?! That's crazy!

I met my hubby online, though not thru a dating service. We have known each other almost 12 yrs and married 6 yrs.

Ambsies:
I used Match.com for a while when I was 22. No long term or serious relationships came from it, but I did make some really good guy friends.
DH's best friend married a woman he met on PlentyOfFish.com (they both said it was a pretty cheesy site). They are seriously perfect for each other. They've been married for 2 years and have a 4 month old son.
