Parenting classes?

We have officially reached the terrible 2's. DH and I feel at somewhat of a loss on how to deal with some of it and were thinking it might benefit us to take some sort of class. Anyone know of any? We do *not* want anything religious based.

No classes that I know of but we're using Happiest Toddler on the Block with some success. I know some people feel stupid doing some of the stuff in there, but hey, it works right now. I perused a few other books first and they just didn't hit the age level I needed.

I don't know of any classes either, but 1-2-3 Magic, Love & Logic, and Parenting the Strong Willed Child were books that I found really helpful when we hit the 2's.

1-2-3 magic works. I didn't read the whole book but I use the basic ideas behind it.

The thing about love and logic is that you have to assume your child is logical. lol. It makes a lot of sense. But sometimes with a 2-3 year old nothing makes sense to them. lol.

One of my good friends has followed Moms on Call since her baby was 2 weeks old. She went to the toddler seminar this summer and really feels like it was beneficial. Her daughter turned 2 earlier this month.

while I haven't taken any of these, someone from the decaturmamas group just sent a link to some upcoming parenting seminars, here is a link to all of them but of particular interest you may want to look in to Love & Logic or the Positive Discipline one (which are also two very good and helpful books you can read!)

Thanks everyone! We actually have been doing 1-2-3-Magic since she was about 18 months and I do really like it. But there are things it doesn't address (like how to deal with "sharing" and melt downs over tiny things, etc) that I was hoping a class might help with. I did order the Parenting Your Stong Willed Child, thanks for the recommendation!
