cauterizing a belly button

I was wondering if anyone else had to have their LO belly button cauterized? DD belly button keeps bleeding, her cord fell off before her navel was dried up. We called the pedi. today when she had blood on the on her onesie, they said to come in tomorrow and they would take care of it. I have never heard of this happening and was curious if any of you all had this happen.

    The pedi office swabbed my DDs belly button with silver nitrate at our last appt to dry things up. Her belly button was not infected or oozing, but it kept bleeding so they wanted to dry it up before it did get infected.

    Diagnosed with Severe Ashermans 
    Hysteroscopy #10 - scar tissue grew back reblocking my right tube
    #11 or IVF with scarring still inside?
    1 lone embryo from September 2016 retreival, dx with Trisomy 16, starting fresh

    Poor DD's belly button scab got stuck on my sweater during her first pediatric appt and came off. I felt terrible! They did the same as PP, silver nitrate with a qtip and it healed just fine.

    I had to have this done when I was a baby. My belly button would not stop bleeding. But my mom said it's no big deal. I wouldn't worry too much about it.

    Luke lost his stump on his one week-a-versary, he had to have silver nite swabs done 3 times. It's not a big deal, looking back. I was a spaz about it in the beginning though. Other than her messing with it, it didnt seem to bother him at all & now his belly button is good to go.

    Both DS and DD had the silver nitrate done int he hospital by the pedi before we went home. Unfornately, DD also had to have it done 2 more times in the pedi office. It was bleeding and oozing. I swear between that, the reflux, and the tear duct we have been at the pedi more in the past 3 wks then I have been in years, lol
