gift help for 5 year old boy and how much to spend.

My DD is invited to her first birthday party for 2 kids from her preschool.    It is for a 3 year old girl and 5 year old boy(siblings).    I need some gift ideas for the boy.   Also, how much should I spend on each of them?

    Do you know anything about the boy? My son is not into any typically Boy stuff such as superheroes so if it was me and I didn't know anything about the kid I would probably do something like a craft or a science project kit that you can find at Michael's. I usually spend around 15

    For kids I know I spend around $25, for kids I don't then around $15;  TRU has these neat sets from Animal Planet that are around $10--each has a different theme and has a big mess of animals to fit the theme (ex. farm, ocean, dinosaur).  Or could you do a joint gift (like the Lorax movie?)   Also check out the Nerf section.
