Preemie Awareness

So after reading a post today from a bump mama (I don't know if she would mind me using her name, so I won't ) I researched preemie awareness, to see if there is a month devoted to this like cancer awareness. And there is!!!!! Some of you may already know this but I thought I would share just in case! Here is the MOD website with a few links to volunteer and a calander of events for the month of November!     That's awesome! Yes, there is a growing amount of groups out there who are trying to raise awareness - including our "own" (written by a lot of posters on this board) blog in my siggy - and lots of other networking sites. There was even a conference last week! I didn't know about it until it was happening, but it was in Chicago: https://www.preemieparentalliance.wildapricot.org/

    I'm very passionate about this topic because I was so totally in the dark when I had my son. I knew preemies were a Cabbage Patch Doll. That's about it! ;)

    Great link! Thanks for sharing! I was talking with my friends which we are all having babies. We were saying that you worry about all the obvious things during pregnancy, can we get pregnant, making it to 12 weeks, having a healthy baby, complication free delivery and so on. But in NEVER crosses your mind "I could have a preemie"  and then before you know it you are delivering a baby way to early. Most of the time there is no warning, by the time your realize there is a problem it seems like the only safe answer for the baby and mom is to deliever. It's definitely a new passion of mine as well.  Especially to educate people who don't understand what it's like to have a preemie and to help other families currently in the NICU.
