Any of your toddlers doing this? Especially new words- like today at nap time she laid there on her back, playing with her stuffed animal babbling/talking- and saying her new word hot dog- over and over then other words she knows, then just flat out babble until she fell asleep. It was really funny just wondering how common it is?

Re: 23 month old babbling/talking to self
I love to listen to my son talk to himself after he wakes up from his nap. He's hooked on counting and the alphabet so he's usually doing that, but sometimes he just sits talking about lawn mowers and weedwackers because he's obsessed with them. I usually turn the sound up on the monitor just to hear him better :-)
Sometimes I feel bad if he's had a rough morning and wakes up repeating everything he's not supposed to do. "Don't hit Mommy, don't hit baby, don't jump off couch, don't kick cats, don't spit on floor, etc."

A few weeks ago, I sat outside my DD's room after I put her down because I was cracking up listening to her say, APPLE, APPLE, BABY, MOMMY, APPLE PIE! It would be quiet for a second and then APPLE again!
Just practicing, I guess!
