Carseat Q/travel

DS will be nearly 3 when he takes his first airplane ride. Not planning on bringing the carseat for plane, but what do you do for shuttles? Airport/hotel shuttles, etc?

The trip from airport to hotel at the destination is a coach bus, which I'm less concerned about for some reason. But we'll likely have shuttle vans from airport parking to terminal on the way there (and when we get home), which are a little shaky. What are your experiences? Do those shuttles offer carseats? (Of course I'll call in advance, but wondering what your experiences have been) TIA!

    When we traveled to San Juan this past May, we did not use our carseat.  I am not sure there would have been a way to use it.  We would have had to take it everywhere with us - which would not have worked.

    I've never used a carseat in those shuttles. There generally aren't even seatbelts, so there would be no way to secure a carseat. The girls either sat in our laps or else were in the infant carseat still when we traveled in one.

    We didn't use a carseat.  TBH, I'm sure the other folks on the shuttle won't be very agreeable with having to wait for you guys to install a carseat let alone the space a carseat takes in what may be a packed shuttle when your child can just sit on your lap.

    I was also going to add that that taking the car seat is of utmost importance for safety. My son has logged thousands of miles in airplanes and has his car seat. It's not that cumbersome. We use a strap that hooks it to the carry on roll bag so we are set.

    One more thing - I've heard good things about the CARES harness for the airplane. If you're really not going to be driving at your destination, that might be a good option.
