For having excessive accidents (3). We have an appointment with the pedi on Monday to make sure it's not something physiological. He NEVER tells us he has to go (#2) until after he's started. He just turned 5, so I feel that this shouldn't be an issue right now. I really don't know what I'm hoping for, for something to physically be wrong means that it's not his fault, but then we have to figure out the best way to fix it (after a very quick search on google said possibly surgery). Anyone else deal with this? He would've been able to go tomorrow, but I have an OB appt tomorrow, I think if I took him to the pedi I'd then have to drag him to the OB, that would be terrible for him, instead he and the twins will go to IL's.

Re: DS1 kicked out of p-k for at least 2w
I guarantee you are not the only parent who is dealing with or has dealt with this in the past. I think you are doing the right things, ruling in or out a physical problem first. Here's a link that might help:

Good luck.
how frequent were the accidents? Also - can they really kick him out?
They can be as frequently as daily (or every time he has to have a BM). He hasn't had an accident in 2w, but we've been having him go before school so he's rarely had the need during school. Again, he never tells us ahead of time, normally we just catch him before the accident.
As far as kicking him out, one of his teachers said there's a new state law. My MIL doesn't totally buy it, I don't really care to research it because even if there isn't a law and the teacher lied, it could still be their private policy. His other teacher said when he's gone 2w with no accidents we can try again to send him (I'm not sure if he would be out again after 3 more or if it would be after even 1). She said he can't come back until it's "resolved". I asked what that meant, and she didn't really have a clear answer, just that when he goes _______ without an accident.
I'm really at a loss. I have no idea what to say to him, how to feel about it. I'm scared if it something physical, I'm scared if it isn't. If he was born 6w sooner, he would've been starting K this year (though we probably would've held him back anyway because I don't feel he's mature enough for full day K yet). We started the whole PT thing when he was 32m (May 2010), so what if this is an ongoing battle that we still have when he's in public/private school? I really don't think he knows or has any sensation until it's too late, but obviously I can't be sure of what he's feeling so I don't know how to help him.

oh huh - he's having poop accidents?
that does seem unusual. Wetting incidents could just be timing/gets excited, etc. but poop seems more troubling and I could see how the school says its not something they can deal with.
I dont have any advice but just wanted to say I'm sorry you're going through this with DS. No doubt that is tough
But like PP said, you're for sure not the only parent facing this. Hang in there and good luck with the Pedi!!

Sorry you're going through this. I know how frusterating it can be. I'm in the same boat with my daughter and at my wits end. I've touched base with an pediatric occupational therapist, they said it is a common problem and there are strategies to help, perhaps ask your doctor for a referal.
Good luck! Your not alone.
He could be constipated and his bowels are so backed up that he's involuntarily starting to go before he gets to the toilet. Definitely a good idea to have him try to go in the morning before he goes to school so that hopefully he wouldn't need to go until he got home again.
But, my DS at 4 still sometimes has small accidents in his undies. It's like skid marks, not a full on accident though. He usually realizes he needs to go and gets to the toilet to actually have his bowel movement. We try to have him sit for a few minutes on the toilet about 20 minutes after breakfast and then again shortly after lunch and then again shortly before his bathtime. He usually has a bowel movement at least one of these times. But he knows that's when he is to sit on the potty and try. We let him have books to read so he will sit for a few minutes.
Good idea to go to the pedi. I've heard that starting to all-day school can cause a constipation issue because they are holding it in at school because they just don't want to go. Then they can get backed up and end up having accidents. Pee accidents because their bowels are full and obviously poop accidents because the bowels can only hold so much!
Hope this resolves quickly for you!
What just happened in my diaper?!
