Hi everyone,
I am new to The Bump. Not pregnant or TTC yet but will be within the next yr. (excited!) Right now I have recently moved from north jersey to Howell and need to switch gyn's. I would like to go to someone who I will use as my OB as well.
I am interested in hearing everyone's OB and hospital recommendations in Monmouth and even Ocean counties. I have heard Jersey Shore Medical Center is the best hospital down here and that Centra State is also good but I would love to hear about personal experiences.
Thanks ![]()
Re: Monmouth County Hospitals/OB's
My OB is Dr. Joe Cipriano ( healthy womans obygn) and I LOVE the practice. They have an office in freehold past the hospital and they have an office on rt 537 and rt 34.
I delivered my daughter last year at Centrastate and had a wonderful experience. I was there for a few days because I had a c section. Wonderful staff and excellent care.
I go to Riverview Women's Health. If you have an appointment at 1pm, you have an appointment at 1pm. It's excellent.
They of course go to Riverview Hospital in Red Bank. Love it there too. Beautiful baby floor!
lol if you look at my old posts, I had a bad first appointment with Health Woman but I stayed and I am sooo glad. I literally love them all-- even the first Dr. I saw who in the end, delivered my baby and even joked about our rocky start. I wouldn't go anywhere else!
Centra State is awesome, too. I felt like I was in a hotel. I was turned off at the Baby Fair (which you should definitely go to b/c it was a lot of fun) when it seemed like the nurses didn't let new moms rest and basically left the babies with you (so they said) but that was not the case at all! I got plenty of help/rest/care. And if you're with the Healthy Woman practice, it's like the nurses and other doctors give you extra care which I've heard from other people.
Doctor Andrea Price in Eatontown has been my Gynecologist since 2006. Doctor Price is the most compassionate and sweet doctor to be found. She figured out a rare trait I was struggling with for years and it wasn't even gyn related. In 2012 she left her old practice with Doctor Chakraborty (Women's Health Alliance) and opened a new office by her self. The decor is so beautiful and elegant. They thought of everything a patient would want, like a Womens center combined with a spa. Best of all they take our HMO insurance.
Doctor Price has been on cable television on The Baby Story and wrote a book. Most of all, she takes time to answer all my questions (and I have a lot) and explain what is happening in my body. She even hugs you after each exam. Her feedback on the internet is all positive. Some of her patients are other female doctors which makes me feel secure. I can not say enough good things about this caring doctor !!! Her office is called Women's Center for Integrative Health
As far as hospitals, Monmouth has a NICU and resident surgeons on call, compared to Riverview.Medical Center.
