Babies: 3 - 6 Months

If you use a motion monitor - when will you stop?

Just curious for those who use some kind of motion monitor, when do you think you will stop using it? We have the Snuza and DH asked me last night when we could stop. I hadn't even thought about it. Maybe when she goes to college? Haha. I know the SIDS risk goes down at 6 months, but it is just so reassuring to have it on her. I think we will probably use it for a while, at least until it doesn't fit right on her or falls off a lot or something. What about you guys?

  • We have an angelcare monitor and I plan on using the motion part of it until at least DS is 1 year. Then after that it will just be audio and we will probably use that for quite sometime afterwards, at least until he is 3 or so.

  • We have the angelcare and will use it till about a year. But wil use the audio part for awhile. Till about 2. Lol i say that now
  • We stopped using the motion part of our Angelcare about a month ago. We have the sensitivity set on high, but we were still getting false alarms. I honestly think it's because of how Aria sleeps- on her belly, with her legs tucked up under her and her bottom in the air. It just couldn't pick her up.

I had originally planned to use it for about a year.

  • We have the Angelcare and used it with DS until just a few months ago (he is 2). If you install the Angelcare properly, with the sensor under the mattress on a piece of plywood or cardboard then you shouldn't be getting false alarms all the time.

Ours is installed properly as far as I can tell. I'm not really worried about it anymore. The first 4 months or so though, it gave me peace of mind. :)

  • I have a video monitor that connects through my iphone. I will use the video until I feel I don't need it anymore... and I have no idea when that will be honestly... but then again... it doesn't bother either myself or my H at night... so it isn't that big of a deal...

I will keep it in his room until he is older... idk for how long... b/c I can talk through it.. so I think its a good idea for when like at night, and say he wants to get up, out of bed and play, I can see what he is doing and I can talk through my phone and tell him to go lay back down or whatever...
