Hi mommas,
DH just bought me new fancy slow cooker to make dinners easier. I have a few recipes but am looking for some new simple recipes. I have a couple cook books but a lot of the recipes call for ingredients I don't normally keep in the house.
anyone have any recipes they really enjoy and are willing to share?

Re: Slow cooker recipes?
I love making pot roast in the crock pot. It's delicious and feeds us for days. I sear my meat first because I think it adds a nice layer of flavor and the flour helps thicken the gravy a little.
1 chuck roast, about 3 lbs
s&p
1/2 c. flour
1 can cream of mushroom soup
1 can of water
1 c. broth or stock
1 packet onion soup mix
2 c. mushrooms
4 large carrots, peeled and cut into bite-sized pieces
3 red potatoes, diced into bite-sized pieces
1 small onion, chopped
Sprinkle meat with salt and pepper. Put flour in a shallow dish and dredge the meat. Sear on med heat until all sides are browned.
Combine soup, broth, water, and soup mix in the bottom of the crock pot. Add chopped onions and mushrooms. Place meat on top and cook on low for 6-7 hours. Add potatoes and carrots and cook for another hour or until tender.
Serve with rice and a salad.
Yeah, I would love some recipes too. I'll be watching this thread!
One thing I do know, though, when you get sick of pot roast, soups, etc. and all-in-one types of meals, the crock pot is great for cooking juicy meat. You can put in some chicken and chicken stock/broth and throw in some spices or canned/frozen stuff for flavor, like minced garlic and pearl onions. There's so much you can do with delicious chicken breast!!
I am trying a slightly modified recipe for pineapple chicken.
if it turns out I will post the recipe...
all I can say is Pinterest!!!
There are a vast amount of slow cooker recipes on there!!!

4 skinless, boneless chicken breasts (2 breast in each ziploc)
3/4 cup teriyaki sauce in each ziploc)
2 tsp garlic salk per ziploc (more or less depends on your taste for garlic)
soy sauce (how much you like depends on amount per ziploc)

DH loves Coca-Cola pot roast.
1 roast (I also brown mine like a PP mentioned)
1 pkg of Lipton onion soup mix (or store brand)
1-12 oz can of coke (sometimes if my roast is larger I will use 2 cans)
Throw it all in the crock pot on low for 6-8 hours, and it comes out delicious.
I also get a lot of recipes from https://crockingirls.com/
I have made this roast twice in two weeks because I was so proud of how good it was and how insanely easy!
1 Beef Roast - I just picked a roast at the grocery store that had the word "roast" in it. I have no idea what cut or part of the cow it was.....
3 cups Water
1 pkg Dry Onion Soup Mix
A huge assortment of spices that I just sprinkled on the meat because I never use any of my spices and they all smelled really good.
Cook on high for 5 hours or low for 8 hours. I tried to cook potatoes for the last hour but they were still rock hard so I just took them out and boiled them for mashed potatoes.
