  Ladies, you know me... I am all about the etiquette rules, but I think I am dangerously dipping into tacky territory and I need help (absolution). 

  Two year ago, I hosted a baby shower for my sister. So, now that I am pregnant, she wants to host one for me. She is very excited about this. Only problem is that she is not a party planner.  That's ok. I don't mind. I keep telling her whatever she wants to do is fine with me. 

  At lunch the other day, we picked a date together and discussed having it at my mom's house since my sister lives an hour away and I have a tiny condo with zero guest parking. She asked if I had any specific requests. I told her no silly games. I just want people to have the freedom to mingle and nibble. I told her everything else was entirely up to her - whatever she wanted to do.  

  I know she is stressing over the fact that my mom has cats and she is allergic to cats (my mom is not her mom - she's technically my step-sister) and that the shower is right after Fall tax season (she is an accountant).

  So, here is where I did something tacky... I emailed her with the URLs for two local tea rooms that do really nice shower packages for about $13 per person. I don't really care, I just know it would be easier on her.

  Ugh, why did I do that? I promise I was in sister-mode just trying to help her out. Now I feel bad because she will obviously take one of my suggestions since it will let her escape the cats. 
  

  I know, I know. Bad Melle! I am going to go sit in the corner and read my Miss Manners book for a while.  

   

  You sound so sweet worrying.... She knows you so don't worry.
