I was just curious as to what everyone's budget is for LO's birthday party?

$100(ish) for food, probably $50(ish) for decorations/supplies (can reuse some stuff from DS1's bday & I make all of my own printable stuff like invites, labels, stickers, etc) & $100(ish) for gifts (haven't decided what to get him yet).

Instead of a budget I just spaced out buying things so it wasn't all at once.

Decorations have cost probably about 100.

Food will probably cost around 100.

Cake was 70.

So I guess I'm looking around 300 which is a lot but one party a year, I can handle.

Can I just not think about it? Ummmm.... about 200? But I'm not sure about whether we're doing food yet. And I'm inviting close to seventy people, so that's probably not bad. What's bad is if I stopped to think about how much I'm spending on presents too.

I have a huge family 50 just my moms side, so we have a budget of 300 for decorations, cakes and the main dish for 119 people! Waaaaaaaay to many for a first birthday party but no one wants to miss it : we haven't decided if we will get her a gift yet tho!

The budget has pretty much gone out the window. We have invited like 60 people to the party. With food, the supplies to make the cake, decorations, and rental for the place and bounce house, it is probably about $600. Thankfully the party is this Sunday. I really can't afford to spend anymore.

For party, we will probably do dinner and cake for about 10 adults and 2 toddlers. Party will be about $150.

Gift will be about $150.

We're also doing 1 year pictures. Photographer is a friend and will do it for free. We'll give her a $100 gift card, buy a smash cake and outfit. That will probably be another $250 by the time we're done.

So total first birthday budget is a little over $500. Oi.

My budget is $500.00 I didnt want to spend this much but with decorations, hall, cake, gift, and so forth, it adds up.

Decorations are going to run us a little less then $50, that's everything not food related plates/napkins/cups/silverware/balloons/streamers

Cake is going to run us about $50 too, I wasn't expecting that but come to realize I am out of several decorating things and must have lost several of my tools when we moved so I have to hit hobby lobby or micheal's soon

Food I'm not sure of yet, with drinks probably upwards toward the same $50... even though I'm just doing snacks. I'm hoping to keep it at >$30 though.

Last year we got her a build-a-bear with one of the recordings in it of us wishing her a merry 1st Christmas, so we're thinking we'll take her to the mall on her actual birthday (the following day), do a build a bear and the carousel. So say $50, if we do lunch too.

So that's about $200.... and I'm not including the "around the house" things I want to spruce up beforehand, since we're having it there. New curtains, bar stools, shoe mats, new tv stand etc.

ETA: I forgot about her outfit! That will probably run us $30-$40 and we're also having one year/family pics done so that will be incorporated into our birthday costs which are about $150.. i think

The most expensive part is that LO & I are flying down to CA to celebrate with my extended family the wknd before her bday. The flight cost $200 round trip. I plan to buy her cupcakes and some decorations for a cupcake themed party so maybe another $75... unless my parents throw down for it

. They'll be supplying light food for it too. MH and I will do a little family (just us 3) celebration on her actual bday at home. The theme that day is DIY princess day. We have a rediculous number of cardboard boxes so MH and I are going to make her a coardboard castle. Also going to make her a diy sensory board and ball pit. Ive been getting most of her presents at consignment stores & clearance racks. Probably spent $50 on presents and will spend $25 on decorations and supplies. I figure take advantage of DIY and reused presents while shes too young to care!

We are doing first birthday pictures so that alone will probably cost about $200 once you include payment, smash cake and outfits.

I'm making most of the decorations so mainly just craft paper in the right colors and balloons. (Maybe $70?)

Cake-I haven't ordered it yet but my plan is to do a cute decorated cake for him and then cupcakes for everyone else. (About $60)

Food-I'm doing finger foods and snacks so I would imagine I will probably spend about ($75 to $100)

Presents: my budget is about $100 since Christmas will be right around the corner as well.

Now that I'm adding it all up...OH MY! Well, he only turns 1 once is my excuse!

My mom is insisting on helping to pay, mainly because she wants to show him off.

At least 70 people are invited, so we'll probably just cater food.

Presents- about $100

Cakes- one for him and one for the rest of us- $50ish?

Decorations- Probably about $75

First year pictures- $200

I've been so busy with work, I haven't had much time to think about his birthday yet.
