I EBF and work out 30 mins to 60 mins 6 days a week. I have lost one pound in the last month. I gained 45 pounds in preg and lost 28 during delivery & recovery. Is BF keeping me from losing weight?
Yep, I held on to those last 5-10lbs until I weaned at 14 months. I just focused on eating well and exercising and figured it would come off eventually.
I also held on to those last five pounds while breastfeeding. The week after he weaned, I did a double take on the scale because it came off so quickly. You don't mention how long ago you had your baby? It does take a while. I only gained 18 pounds with my last pregnancy, was only down 6 lbs when I came home from the hospital (even though I gave birth to a 7 lb 2 oz baby), and then had a good size belly for a good 5 months. It slowly came down, but I only leaned out once I weaned. I got to have that feeling for a good 2 months before the first trimester bloat of this pregnancy hit.
It takes a while. Plus, breastfeeding makes me sooooo hungry.
I gained 40 lbs with DD #1, lost 10 immediately after birth, 15 within 2 months, and couldn't lose those last 10-15 lbs. BF is what kept me from losing it. When DD weaned, I lost those last 10 lbs within a few months.
Good luck. I know it's aggravating, but it won't last forever.
I held onto the last 13lb while BFing. After DD weaned I lost 6lb but then I got pregnant a few weeks later.

Not sure how old your baby is... but I lost mine in phases, while EBF'ing... gained 22 lbs during last pregnancy, came home from hospital about 10-12 lbs lighter (8+ lb baby) and then it was slow to lose... but it seemed like I suddenly dropped some around 4, 6, and 9 months after. I ended up being 15 lbs lighter than pre-preg (until I got pregnant again!!!) creeping back up there....
BFing did wonders for me. I gained 40lbs (160) during pregnancy and was back down to about 120 a month later. I didn't even exercise until my son was like 9months old. I just ate super, super healthy. I did however hang on to a few lbs b/c you have to eat more while breastfeeding since your burning around 500 calories a day..just by nursing. For the most part though...nursing helps you lose weight, not gain it. It is true though that once you quit nursing, you can stop eating the extra calories, so you will probably drop the extra few lbs, especially since you are exercising.
Every womans body is different though...always keep that in mind. Keep up the great work!!
