trying to "crawl"

I always place a toy in front of LO for tummy time. I put it a little bit beyond her arms reach, so she started moving her arms and legs - in crossed pattern, like a GI Joe - and somehow scooted forward and got it!

Pretty cool to watch and a good reminder to baby proof soon...

Re: trying to "crawl"

  • Cute!! My 1st did her "army drag" for MONTHS before getting up on full hands and knees to crawl.  My 2nd, well, she just lays here and yells at me how much she hates me during tummy time.

That's all E does too. Sits there screams at me about it.

I can just imagine how wonderful the teenage yrs will be if this is how my precious infant is...

  • That is great!  I can not wait for that!  My daughter does the yelling thing while on her tummy- not a happy time!

  • My daughter HATES tummy time.  I'm excited if I can get 2 minutes without her screaming.  Today she was able to hold her head up really well for a couple minutes.  Then she got tired and just started screaming until I couldn't take it anymore.

  • My little screams or falls asleep doing tummy time.  I'm jealous!

  • Yeah...LO is trying to scoot, but gets so frustrated. He grunts the whole time and seems so fussy. I want to rescue him but I know he has to practice being on his tummy for his development. He hates it!  :(

Glad your LO is advancing in her skills :)

  • now that she can roll over, DD doesn't stay on her tummy for very long. She does scoot around on her back though. She'll eventually push herself off of her mat, or do a 180 turn.

  • my DD hates tummy time as well, but we started putting her down over her boppy and she tolerates it MUCH better.  Add a book or some toy in front of her to look at, and she'll happily do tummy time for up to 10-15 minutes! :)  I'll add a picture if I figure out how to do that..

I try this as my first liked it.. But she just kicks her feet so much she face plants on the carpet or mirror in front of her.  It's ridiculous.

  • Nice. My daughter buries her face in the ground and pushes herself forward with her feet then gets pissed because her hands are stuck under her. She doesn't try and do anything with a purpose though.
