  • Easy....yes her to death, take the stuff she brought and do what you want to do anyway!!

  • She can buy all the formula she wants, but that doesn't mean you have to use it. Make it clear that you've chosen to BF, and that she can support you in that if she wants, but at the end of the day, it her your call not hers.

  • It's not her business so just thank her and move on.  There's no reason to discuss with her how you're going to feed your baby.  Just watch her....my MIL fed my LO diet soda when she was 7 months old.

  • Tell her that the food pantry really appreciated her donation.

  • I would tell her again and again of your plans. If it gets to a point where you are quite annoyed just stop saying anything to her and go about your plans as you wish. She'll get the idea when you are breastfeeding instead of using her bottles. If you can donate them or the formula that would be nice.

  • Honestly, you're just going to have to stand your ground and flat out tell her you are breastfeeding. Don't worry about hurting her feelings, it's none of her business. If it were me, I'd tell her it's not up for discussion and the fact that you have to defend your decision to BF is pathetic. I also would watch what you say around her when you do start BFing if you are having any problems because she'll be right there dangling a bottle of formula in front of your face.

If it's your MIL...  Tell your husband to talk to her.  It will do 2 things, it will restate your position on breastfeeding AND show her that HER SON is behind you 100%.  This is his battle. Not yours.

    This!

  • I would just ignore her for the time being.  However, after your LO is here, I would be sure to keep a close eye on her.  It seems like a huge red flag that she's already ignoring your wishes.

  • No idea why, but while washing a pan, I thought of something horrible and I hope doesn't happen. Reading another person's post about red flags... I got to thinking, your MIL better not give formual if she ever watches your LO. Especially if you gave BM! Good luck with everything!!

This.  If she knows your plans but still keeps pushing the formula, fine...let her waste her money.

  • Can you take all the bottles and formula back to the store, get store credit and get something you REALLY need? I would.
  • Return the bottles and get something you really need! 50 bottles = a good bit of diaper money:
