Stool softners question?

Is taking stool softeners for constipation okay? I have the Phillips brand.

    It was one of the first questions I asked at my first dr's appointment! I remember my first trimester and early second trimester last time. It was like trying to birth a small animal! Lol

    I was told yes, Colace is fine.
