i just want to get feedback on what you feed your baby right now. My Lo has eaten many veggies, yogurt, wheat bread, star pasta, and several fruits. Usually he eats a fruit with either applesauce or yogurt for breakfast, a veggie and either wheat bread pieces or a little star pasta for lunch. Also sometime i just give him two diff veggies. Same goes for dinner. after lunch and dinner sometimes he gets some puffs or a mum mum. My question is I feel like I am not varying it enough for him. I just want to make sure hes eating a good variety... any advice? Do i need to change anything?
*right now im not doing so much blending like before...i more mash it so its a little thicker
Re: feeding question
Just my opinion, but it sounds like both of you are doing a great job, especially for this age. I wasn't planning to start my daughter on 3 meals a day until she was more like 9-10 months, however, she has showed interest for it and now does have 3 meals with no protest, so that's what we do! anyways, I give her a fruit with oatmeal in the am, usually 3 cubes (which are just under 2 oz each), lunch is 1 cube of fruit mixed with plain yogurt (her FAVE!) and a veggie, dinner is between 3-5 cubes of food with oatmeal. I don't give her rice because we have poo issues, meaning she doesn't if I am not careful with what I give her.
I have been thinking of new things to give her though and these may be some to add to the rep, I love the pasta idea so that's one. The other thing I am going to do this week is get some beans and cook those up and create some beans to add into meals for protein. And also, I am going to try out hard boiled egg yolk. It is the egg white they aren't supposed to eat before 1. She also eats something she can feed herself at almost every meal, but it usually ends up being more play unless i put it in her mouth. She tries so hard but gets frustrated.
I also add spinach to almost every veggie. I tried this two ways and the second worked MUCH better. first way was to steam the spinach, which cooks down to basically nothing. It was next to impossible to process in the food processor this way. Second way was to just put fresh spinach straight in the food processor and add breastmilk (or you can use water) and blended away. It makes a nice rich in vitamins dark green puree which i freeze into very small ice cubes (like only fill each cube in the tray a small amount) because it is very dense.
Anyways, hope that gives you some ideas of what to try, but sounds like you're doing great!
