sweet potato fail
my fail, not adeline's fail!
so i was going to make up a batch of baked potatoes in the crock pot so i could take them to work for lunches this week. i figured i'd throw in a sweet potato to bake for adeline. great idea, right?
WRONG....sweet potatoes apparently do not have the same cook time as regular potatoes and i woke up to a crockpot full of sweet potato foam. yes...FOAM.

Wash 'em. Poke 'em with a fork. Wrap 'em individually in foil. Pile 'em in the crockpot. Cook on low for 8 hours!

I forgot about this way of cooking potatoes! It is a great way to bake them. They do have a different color if I recall correctly but they taste great.
Man I love potatoes.
Maybe it is the irish in me, but I can't get on board with sweet potatoes. I mean they are fine I suppose I just MUCH prefer regular potatoes even though I believe sweet potatoes have more nutritional value?

I usually just cook mine in the microwave, but they just aren't the same.

Dixee for sweet potatoes it is the texture I think. They have a weird texture. And what I don't ever understand is why somebody would order sweet potato fries when regular fries (or better waffle fries) are available. People say "oooh they have sweet potato fries!!" and I'm like... "yeah BUT did you see they also have just FRIES" haha. Sweet potato fries suck because they are never crispy enough, always sort of soggy. <--- this is my opinion and perhaps it belongs in thursdays UO thread which I suspect will be a yawnfest this week... my sweet potato fry hate might be the most controversial thing in there..
