I was wondering if it would be okay for me to intro over here. Let me know if you think it is not the right fit, and I'll sneak on back to TTCAL. (I have been posting on TTCAL for a week or two shy of one year. There have been some short breaks when I needed a breather and during my short-lived second pregnancy, but the "on" has far exceeded six months by now, including a pretty much continuous stretch from the beginning of April until now.)
My DH and I have been together for 10 years, married for 3 years. We began TTC #1 in 6/2011 and I got pregnant right away, only to have a sudden natural miscarriage at 11.5 weeks on 9/20/11, exactly one year ago. It was the single most traumatic experience of my life--physically and emotionally.
We returned to TTC right away after that. After 6 cycles, I was pregnant in March. I begged my OB for an early u/s and she said it wasn't medically indicated but they would do it for me if I wanted. At 7 weeks, I went in for the u/s and was measuring behind. The docs said maybe my dating was off.
After repeat HCG draws showed it wasn't a viable pg, they performed a karman biopsy (described to me as a "mini D&C" procedure) and found no intrauterine pregnancy tissue, despite HCG at 10,000 and rising (albeit slowly). I was diagnosed with an ectopic pregnancy and given MTX. The MTX course was miserable for me, and I ended up admitted to the hospital, but I dodged surgery.
Then we had to TTA for three months due to the MTX treatment, meanwhile we pursued some basic RPL testing. As of July 1, we were cleared to TTC and we're back on the wagon, hoping for another chance.
The past year has been ridiculously hard for me. It's a daily challenge to keep my chin up, just hopeful enough to keep going but not so hopeful that I have meltdown when AF makes her inevitable appearance.
Other than that, we have two fur babies--a 7 year old cat and a 2 month old puppy. The latter has really kept our hands full and made this month bearable as we grapple with the impending birth of our best couple friends and our own loss milestone.
Thanks for listening! Sorry that got long. I'm sorry that we have to be here, but I do appreciate the warmth and support I have gotten from this board on the TTCAL side. I'll offer you a slice of the apple crisp I made yesterday plus my favorite fall brew for getting through that:

That's awesome! Their pumpkin ale can be a little hard to come by around here, but after extensive taste testing I have found it unrivaled. ;. I should hunt some down this weekend.
Welcome Killian.
and, I'm in for a beer exchange - pumpkin beer sounds pretty great!
i just don't know about postal rules and beers in Canada..
although I'm thinking its probably encouraged somewhere in Canada's laws..
