Baby is sick :(

My babysitter had a fever today - her kid didn't get a fever but had the sniffles and a runny nose on Friday and she smooched M so much that I think she gave him what she had. He was sneezing yesterday and today, got up a lot last night and tonight he is congested and keeps waking up screaming. Poor guy. What do you guys do for your sick babies besides just nursing (if you bf) and comforting them? I have a cool humidifier, would that help? It's this kind. It's been fairly humid out lately so I'm not even sure that would do anything, but then again we've been running the a/c in here.

  • We're (hopefully) at the tail end of a 3 week cold. We used Vics Baby Rub, cool humidifier, tylenol when the screaming wouldn't stop, and saline drops sucked out by the Nose Frida. Oh, and lots and lots of cuddling. I hope your little guy feels better quickly!

  • Cool humidifier, Tylenol, and when he was really upset and stuffy I would sit in the shower with him. He loves that and it helped his congestion.

  • I did all the stuff the PP did as well as letting him sit in the bathroom with me while I took a shower. I think the steam helped him. Hope he gets to feeling better soon! I have heard that a baby can get an average of 7 colds his/her first year. Blah!

  • We made an emergency trip out to get the Nosefrida, and it was amazing. DS hated it, but it got a LOT of snot out. It was amazing.

  • I used the nosefrida last night. He HATED it but it got so much snot out! Does it hurt/annoy them less if you use it w/ saline drops?

I didn't use it with saline because he hates getting the drops put in, so I decided to only annoy him once with the Nosefrida! But I'll probably do that next time. Poor kid.
