Athena has taken Prilosec since she was about 2 1/2 to 3 weeks old. She hasn't really fought us giving it to her in the syringe until about 2 weeks ago. Now she is on Amoxicillin, so we are giving her Prilosec twice a day, the antibiotic 4 times a day, and baby Advil as needed... and the way she screams whenever it's time to take medicine breaks my heart. Any advice on what to do for her? Has anyone had a similar situation?? I've shown her the syringes before I try and give it to her, and let her touch it to see it's nothing scary - but that doesn't seem to work. We're at wits end!
ETA: Fixed spelling of advice in the subject. It was driving me bananas.
Re: Advice on giving meds?
Are you bottle feeding? Can you put it in a bottle?
I don't know if that's an OK thing to do or what.
I got it at target or bru with a thermometer also a pacifier
We tried solids a few weeks ago, I think we might give it another go this week, and that's a good idea! I also didn't think of diluting it with juice. I'm going to try each of these things until something works! Thanks so much for the advice! (Maybe I could have spelled that word correctly in the subject, too!)
I have tried this a few times and she will not swallow it! The last time I tried, she choked and scared the crap out of me....not going to try that again for awhile.
