Stay at Home Moms

Hello and suggestions

I just wanted to introduce myself and ask for any suggestions on ways to find other SAHMs to hang out with.  I had my DD, our first baby almost 3 months ago.  I was a total career woman and now am trying to adjust to being home with LO.

I am wondering if anyone has any suggestions on how to find other SAHMs in my area besides meetup.com or church?  Thanks in advance for your suggestions.

  • Your local public library should have a storytime for your little one's age range at least once a week.  It's free too!!  Play places like Gymboree.   If you have a local parks and recreation dept sometimes they will have mom/baby classes too.

  • Even though your baby is still too small to play, your local playground or tot lot can be a good place to meet other moms.  Try going at varying times, and different days of the week, to figure out when the other moms and kids are there.  It feels weird meeting people at first, but you get used to it quickly!

  • We have a couple of local mom and kids coffee shops around here. They have designated places for kids to play while the moms enjoy a cup of tea, coffee and baked goods. I would also recommend (if you have the extra cash) to sign up for mommy and me classes. We do swimming once a week and have met a lot of other moms with kids that are around the same age. The library story time is also a good idea too. I haven't tried that one yet but it is on my list.

  • i know the feeling i went from working and full time school to no job and school on the back burner for a little while. i didn't know what to do with myself at home all day with a baby special since i don't have a car. but i go out and do our laundry, take her to the playground, i also set up play dates and now i have a babysitting job at home where i babysit a 1 year old girl. i love it because my daughter has someone to grow up with and she learns a lot from her since she is older. i still take them out to the park and next time the library for story time and they love going to the store they love to say hi and bye to ppl. since your little one is only 2 months i use to get both of us dressed up and walk around the mall to show her off i know it sounds ugh who wants to get up and do that but i did when i felt kind of low or was low or bad but everyone loves her smile and outfits from great grandma and i get to go out and still feel like i have a little of a life outside of these 4 walls. i also read tons of books talked to each other and listen to music. someone else on here put up this great website you should check it out for mom and me ideas. https://www.thestay-at-home-momsurvivalguide.blogspot.com/p/infant-activities.html
