Anyone Else Measuring Small in Fundal Height??

Last wk at my 31w appt, my fundal height was only 27cm. I am positive about my conception date, and shes measured right on track at all my appts up until 29w visit, at which point she was only measuring 26cm... Since that is 3 wks behind, he immediately did an u/s in office, and found she was meauring perfectly and weight wise, was a bit above avg.

He opted not to do another u/s last wk, but did schedule me for one the first wk of Oct just to be cautious, when I am a full 33+wks. I think it could be her position, since she seems to be VERY low... much more so that my last pregnancy... she's been head down in position since 28w, and hasn't turned. Just parnoid I guess... Five wks behind seems excessive to me! My best friend's baby had major growth restriction issues/disabilities b/c her OB was negligent to her small measurements, so I am extra cautious I suppose.

DD#1 always meausured perfectly in fundal height. Anyone else?

If the u/s shows the baby measuring on track, I would go with that. Its more accurate than fundal height.

I am having the opposite issue! I am measuring about 3 weeks big, so we are doing an u/s in a couple weeks to see if baby is big or what is going on. I wouldn't be concerned as long as baby is measuring right. I can understand your concerns, though, but maybe you are just carrying the baby more in the back? good luck!

If the ultra sound showed everything was fine I dont think you need to worry. The position could just be making your stomach smaller. I'm measuring three weeks behind through ultrasound and they aren't that worried, just keeping a close eye with nsts and ultrasounds.

I'm not with this one, but I did with my first pregnancy. DD measured small but was perfectly healthy on the US, so my doc would check with the U/S to make sure things were well in the womb, but she was just a smaller baby. This time around I guess I'm stretched out more or this baby is bigger because I'm measuring average.

Thanks for the info... If you don't mind, how small was she? Our first DD was 7lbs 8oz, larger than I expected... Were you off the charts small in FH measurements, or just slightly behind? Just wondering if I should expect a peanut or what?

I've been measuring small, too. At first I was about 3 weeks behind, but I'm slowly catching up...Now I'm only 2 weeks behind. I had two ultrasounds and both show baby's measurements in like the 60th percentile...so everything is good, and they're actually predicting an 8-8.5 lb baby! My dr said that some women just carry differently and measure small, when everything is fine. As long at the baby's measurements are good, I wouldn't worry too much.

Me! I just had my 26 week appointment and my fundal height was only 23 cm. At my 19 week ultrasound everything was measuring right on target. My doc has scheduled another ultrasound for me next week so I guess we'll see what's actually going on inside then... in the meantime I'm trying not to worry. I think as long as your ultrasound was good then chances are it will be just fine in a few weeks.
