June 2012 Moms

results of ww/ 4 month wakeful period...

LO is finally getting back to himself. He nursed and napped today and slept a lot more soundly last night...Wow, he had so many amazing developments this week...

1. laughing out loud

2. rolling over from back to tummy

3. using his fingers more and more..(knows exactly where his thumb is)

4. I can now use the ergo with his legs to the side and no longer froggy!

Just wanted to say hang in there to everyone else going through the stormy period!

Re: results of ww/ 4 month wakeful period...

  • Laughs are amazing! Hannah is starting to laugh a lot more and I just love it.

How did you know he was ready for his legs to be out to the side? I always feel like I'm stretching Hananh's legs really far when I try to put them out the side.

I forget, did I see somewhere that you live on Oahu? I thought I saw somebody that looked similar to you at Nordstrom's rack one day, at least according to your sig photo.

Anywho, my lo HATED the ergo. I haven't put her into in in probably over a month. I really hope she likes it once she doesnt have to sit froggylegged.

  • he started sitting on me differently this week. His legs were relaxed and open...His legs used to be very stiff and now they are very relaxed and flexible...he also started to bend over and play with his toes and put his toes in his mouth.  Therefore, I put him in the ergo and his legs just hung nicely! :)

I have never been to nordstrom rack...I try to avoid that area at all costs! My lo hated the ergo too when his legs had to be froggied...but we had a good time today with his legs out to the side...:)

  • May I ask how long your LO is? My baby is about 25 in. and she's just not quite long enough to not sit froggylegged yet.

Awesome! I can't wait to use my ergo!

May I ask where you live? From your sig pic, I probably would guess the windward side. Kailua or Kaneohe maybe? Anyhow, your son is adorable! And you're a beautiful mama!

I am so confused. Are you seeing a different picture than me? Because all I see is a cartoon baby with the words "Wah Wah Wah" on it.

I actually don't see any pictures, as I am on the mobile version. However, I did see a pic of her on her lanai once upon a time that reminded me of my old home in Kaneohe.

  • Ugh can't wait to be on the flip side of all of this... DD did pick up a bunch of cool new skills (no laughs yet, though ::sigh::), but she's definitely still WWing and wakeful-ing. The only change has been the return of her one long nap over the past few days, but that's about it. In fact, she already woke up once to nurse tonight.

Still, it's nice to expect that light at the end of the tunnel, and I'm excited to see what the cumulative skill acquisition will be when this is said and done :)

Also, I can't wait until she's long enough to stick her legs out of the mei tai comfortably. We can only use a k'tan since she HATES being frog-legged, but it's getting too uncomfortable for my back and I can tell that the mei tai will be waaaaaay nicer...

I never realized how much easier it is on my back with him no longer froggied...I now love the ergo...I actually want to take him with me everywhere now...:)

  • How long did the wakefulness last for you Dr. Beth?
    image Baby Birthday Ticker Ticker
  • it started right about 3 months and just ended so about 3 weeks. And the best news is he has never really STTN, but he did last night...from 10pm-7am with 2 wakings for feedings, but for me that is STTN...he had been up every hour during the wakefulness...I'm a happy camper today. :)
