We started the solids game a bit late, around 6 months. DD has been eating homemade pured food and some stage 2 jarred food up to this point. I have tried several times this week to introduce more texture in her favorite foods or the equivalent of stage 3 foods I guess, just homemade. She is not having it. She spits, gags and refuses to eat. I have given her a loaded spoon, put pieces on her tray, and offered on my finger. Still not having it. We have done carrots, tiny bits of banana, and chunky applesauce. Should I keep trying or take it as a sign that she is not ready and happy with her purees?

Re: Rejecting Food
Josephine is like this sometimes. Depends on her mood almost. Like some days she'll eat something and love it the next she spits it out or "gags" then locks her lips and will not open.
We just keep trying. If she won't eat the finger foods I give her or tiny bites of our food, I will give her some puree... but I continue to try throughout the meal to get her to eat the "textured" stuff.
She's gotten a lot better, she only spits stuff out now if she didn't see it come off of my plate. Otherwise she'll pick up and eat nearly anything, and if I give it to her on my fork, shes that much happier about it. Must make her feel like a big girl or something.
Sometimes Alex doesn't want what I have put on his tray, but if I offer something from my plate, he will take it right away.
I am glad that the pancakes were a hit this morning!
