Not AF, right?

Around midnight, I woke up because I had to pee... as in my bladder felt like it was going to burst. Made it to the bathroom door and felt some leak out, then a bit more. Then held the rest til the toilet. Didn't think anything of it, til my paranoid self woke up. If it had been my water breaking, it would have kept going, right? Not just like a normal bathroom experience. I'm thinking I just embarrassingly peed my pants, but now, of course, I'm worried about the what ifs!

You would continue to leak after. Fluid may be pink and you might have heard a pop...that was my experience. Sounds like you peed your pants:

Nothing kept leaking after. It stopped, like normal after I used the toilet.

I don't have any experience but when we did our child birth class at the hospital they said it could be as small as a trickle and many women think they have peed there pants. The nurse said if we even had the slightest thought that it might be our water to come in. She also said amniotic fluid should be clear and have no smell.

Now that I have said this I have had it where I couldn't make it to the bathroom and had some pee trickle down my leg so I didn't worry about it but it was very, very little.

Doesn't sound like amniotic fluid leaking to me.

If you're worried, I read that one way you can tell is to lie down for 30 mins or so, then get up. If you feel fluid coming out when you get upright, it could be a sign of amniotic fluid leaking.

My OB is trying to prepare me for going into labor on my own (my contractions are out of control), so we have been talking a lot about the signs. She was telling me about her own experience and said that if you see a silver dollar size spot, it is not AF- just normal pregnancy stuff. Her ways to tell were the same as PPs. Look for a trickle that won't stop or a big gush that doesn't go away when you lie down. She also said urine will smell like ammonia, AF has a sweet smell. I'm always a fan of calling the OB, but I think you are ok.

You get weekly NSTs, right? Do they do AFIs or MVPs with your NST? If they are looking at your fluid levels then, I would think you could mention it then. When is your next appt?

Ruthie...can't quote from my phone. Yep, NST s are 2x a week. My next appt Is tues and yes, they do an US at each appt to check fluid levels. I'm leaning towards I just peed my pants a little. Bladder was full, and I was able to stop the flow and hold it til I got to the toilet. I think I just let my worries get the best of me this morning.

Thats good news! I just think you are a rock star for being able to stop the flow! I can't even tell you how many times I've had to wash off my leg for a little trickle after a middle of the night potty break .

This is exactly what they told us in our childbirth class yesterday.
I've had many close calls lately with getting up in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom. We can all hang our heads in shame together
