What are you doing for Halloween?

We finally decided yesterday that Maya is going to be a strawberry for Halloween! Apparently the costume at Gymboree was cute enough to finally get FI off the pumpkin costume! What alias is your LO taking on?

Are you taking LO trick-or-treating? We are debating it, we may go out with FI's mom and youngest sister (she's 6) because they go earlier around 5 or 6. I'm also thinking about dressing her up to go pumpkin picking because we tend to go mid-October. (Although all these adorable pumpkin patch pictures have me craving it now, I just love fall!) Maybe going to the zoo's trick-or-treating/Halloween party too. (Get lots of use out of her costume!) Anyone have any specific Halloween themed plans thins year?

We have to make sure to do a "picture party" on Halloween! I can't wait to see all our LO's dressed up!

We're going to go renaissance and LO will be a princess. I'm thinking about the pumpkin patch idea, but it manages to make me feel odd because we've never done it before. I feel like it would be better to just take LO because the older two probably wouldn't like it, but that seems b!tchy of me. We'll go trick or treating, buy I might pick some other family to go with so I don't have to keep LO out the full time that the other two kids will want to be there.

I showed DS two costumes, a dragon and a tiger. He looked at them both and picked the tiger! So we've decided he's going as Tigger :

I think we will hit up a couple houses for fun. We are doing the pumpkin patch thing next week but I have no plans on dressing him up.

DD is going to be a princess. She'll go trick or treating with DH. DS is going to stay in the house with me and give out candy. We literally hundreds of kids that come. Not sure if I'll dress DS up. Probably not. Some people in the area take their babies trick or treating. So stupid. I know who the candy is for.... Last year I had a lady come to the house with a baby around four months and ask for candy for him. I told her babies shouldn't be eating candy.

DD is going to be a peapod. My mom is making her costume. I feel like I need to be a carrot or something now to match. We're going trick or treating early on Halloween. We're also going to go to the pumpkin patch at some point. I'm not dressing her up in a costume, just some fall colored clothes (gymboree has some cute stuff), and having a little momtography photo session.

DD will be Piglet. We found the cutest costume on sale, I can't wait until it gets here. I think we will go to Boo at the Zoo, just so she can wear the costume for more than an hour. On Halloween we will go trick or treating to our direct neighbors that we actually talk to, to show off how cute DD will be, but not around the neighborhood. There's no point since she won't be eating any of it, plus its usually so cold on Halloween I wouldn't want DD out for too long.

I think the girls are going to be little witches. I was going to do owls, but I don't have the time or energy to make the costumes.

DD1 is old enough to grasp the concept of trick-or-treating so we'll go around to a couple houses right next us and then we'll go to DCP's house a few blocks away to say "hi" and then to my mom's house to visit her and her neighbor (like family, we've known them since I was born).

Caitlin is going to be a little VW mechanic because my DH is huge into VWs. We are getting her little overalls, getting VW patch, hankerchief in the back pocket, toy keys, wrench, hair in pigtails, and smear some black on her face to look like grease.

We are going to my church's trunk or treat. We'll see how it goes!

I need to go to the Harley store amp; make sure I can get him a shirt. I think we are going to just sit outside amp; hand out candy..I'm super excited.

Ds is going to be Batman! We are not going trick or treating, since he can't eat candy yet and dh and I don't need it. We will stay home and hand out candy.

Valerieanne our zoo has the same thing, Boo at the Zoo. I always thought the name was so cute!

I was thinking about it more today and I think we're definitely going to do our Boo at the Zoo and instead have Maya in just fall clothes for the pumpkin patch too...

Rosebud, Janie and Jack also has a freaking adorable pumpkin line! It's a little brown corduroy skirt, white leggings with little pumpkins on them, a cute shirt and a super soft orange cardigan and the cutest thing is the little pumpkin beret!

Jasnem that is the cutest and most original costume I've heard of so far! LOVE IT!

ETA: I'm not normally one to buy an outfit for a single occasion but I figure it will be cute for her to wear on Thanksgiving too lol... makes me feel less guilty about splurging

Well to be fair Halloween is going to be on a Wednesday this year-- we could just post our pics at night!

Our circle does it's own little Halloween get together and eat a bit/hand out candy at the same location instead of having trick or treaters go house to house. It really all depends on how cold out it is... we may just go there and show off to our neighbors and if it's not too bad we may take LO to a few more houses so he can at least experience true "trick or treating". He is going to be a bat! I can't wait it's too cute! Took forever to decide-- I didn't want anything too scary or "grown up"... I wanted something cute (eg- a bumblebee instead of spiderman) before he grows up and wants to be dressed as god knows what!

DS is going as Woody. We might trick-or-treat to the neighbors house just to get pics, but that is it. DS can't eat the candy, and mom and dad don't need to eat it. He will probably just help pass out candy until bedtime.

L is going to be Chewbacca for Halloween. His cousins are going as a Jedi and Yoda, so that will be super fun for pictures! Our church is having a Harvest Festival so we'll probably go just to show him off.

And there is a street downtown that does Trick or Treating that is pretty fun so we may go with IL's and nephews to that. We don't usually get trick or treaters at our condo, so there is no need to be home to hand out candy.

DD is going to be a watermelon and I'm dressing up as a farmer. I'll probably take photos this week and send out cards to the family. My DS's school has a fall festival so we'll probably dress her up for that too.

Thanks! Actually, it worked rather well because DH wasn't too into spending $ on a costume UNTIL he heard it was VW related. Than he was all gung-ho about it. lol Works for me!
