2nd Trimester

Girls who are a DD or LARGER...

What kind of bra do you wear?

I have a 34DD and two 34DDD's from Chantelle.  I think they are worth the money but #1 I can't get somewhere that sells them to try them on and #2 I don't to spend $80 for something to wear for a few months because I'll transition to a nursing bra when this baby is born.

So in the meantime I'm looking for something comfortable but also ULTRA supportive.

Please share!  Thanks :)

  • My bras are from Lane Bryant. Overall I've found them to be the best as far as quality goes. Avenue is okay, but not great.

ETA: As for price they're usually running a like buy one or two get one free kind of sale.

  • I love chantelle and am your size.  You can buy them on Nordstroms.com and they have free return shipping if the ones you get don't fit.  I just bought a bunch online knowing some wouldn't fit and I would return them.  Happy shopping!

  • I shop at Lady Grace.  I wear 2 different styles of Bali brand bras.  One style just doesn't fit after the boob growth of the first trimester.  My bras cost $29-34 each.
  • I wore your size and find that Natori is my new go-to bra during this pregnancy though I love my chantelles.  Nordstrom or Bare Necessities online both offer free returns.

  • I'm normally an E, but have ballooned to an F this pregnancy. I bought 2 bras at Motherhood last week. They have underwire and are very supportive, and only cost $30. I did have to perform some "surgery" on them because they have an extra wire (you know the one that always ends up coming out and stabbing you in the armpit?). I took that out and they are quite comfy.Y'know, In the ways that bras ever are for giant boobies.

  • I am wearing my nursing bras now, b/c they are wireless (well, they have the "light wire" that's made of plastic) but still very supportive (I wear a 34DD as well). My favorite is the Bravado Bliss

Just remember to take into account that your boobs will be bigger while nusring when ordering. I actually ended up going up a band size after pregnancy, too. They are a little spendy, but at least you will be wearing them after pregnancy, too.

Sometimes I also still wear my nursing tanks, too because they are very supportive. I can't usually wear shelf bras, because my boobs are too big. I really liked the Glamour Mom tanks (the Bravados didn't have enough support IMO)

  • I get Elomi bras for my very very well endowed chest. They are a little more reasonably priced than Chantelle and equally supportive and attractive. On Amazon, I can get them in many different color too so I can feel like my lingerie is fun and not granny style, just because I have a large chest.

  • This may be a REALLY silly question, but I'm a FTM so I'll ask anyways...

All the conversation usually focuses on increasing cup sizes, but we should expect our band size to go up too as the weeks progress, right?

Yes, mine did!  You can buy extenders if this is your only issue.

I have nursing bras that will hopefully fit, but waiting to see before I buy any more.  They don't fit right now so I'm really looking for something to wear in the meantime!

I might just "buck up" and order a Chantelle from Nordstrom, didn't know about the free shipping...

  • I just bought my same style, one cup and one band larger from Bare Necessities. They have free shipping and from 25-40% off most styles right now, depending on the brand/color. And, free 60 days returns in case I overshot in my (first) increase.

It feels so much better to know these are on their way!

  • I am usually a D, but am up to an E already.  I bought a couple bras from Motherhood- if you have an outlet nearby, I think they are about $20 each if you buy more that one.  Supportive and well-lined so the headlights aren't on display.

  • Honestly, I wear playtex bras. I wear a 44DD so I can extra breathing room. I got mine for 15 a piece at Walmart. They go all the way up to DDD if you need it beyond that, Lane Bryant would be my suggestion.
  • I was a 36DD before I got pregnant and I went up to a 38DDD. I bought some bras at Cacique/Lane Bryant and they weren't too bad (they also have sales almost all the time). I went to Motherhood and they measured me as a 40E. I bought some bras there too, but they're nursing bras too. I am over these huge boobs and can't imagine how much bigger they're going to get!!
