in Pregnant after a Loss

I used vitex during the cycle in which conceived and the cycle prior. During my most recent cycle I ovulated substantially quicker, which was my goal, so I am very pleased with the herb. The problem is that I am not sure how to go forward. I have gotten down to 400mg/day (was 800 mg/day at time of conception). Should I continue to slowly taper? Stop immediately? I'm scared that whatever way I go next I will be potentially causing a miscarriage.

I'm 5w3d today. Does anyone have any advice?

    I would ask your OB how they would like you to proceed.

    Definitely call your Ob! I have no idea about the dosing of Vitex and whether or nor it should be continued in pregnancy. Perhaps your Ob would prefer you to be on progesterone suppositories instead? Congrats!

    Cycle #1(08/2012): Clomid 50 mg CD3-7, Ovidrel CD13 + Progesterone = It worked!
    BFP #5 on 09/10/12 (11 DPO). HCG #1 @ 14DPO = 131.6 HCG #2 @ 16DPO = 509

    I don't meet my OB until almost 2 weeks from now. I'm thinking I'm going to continue the weaning process.

    I would still recommend calling their office and asking their advice. This is the main reason I'd never take a medicine or supplement that my doctor "knows nothing about". GL and I hope you get an answer.

    AudUy, even if you haven't seen your new Ob yet, I would call and let them know that you are taking a supplement that you are not sure if it is safe to take during pregnancy. If they can't answer your question via phone without being seen, then request an appointment sooner.

    Doing a little research on Vitex shows that there isn't much known about it. But it caught my eye that some sites mention that it should not be taken during pregnancy and others mention it should not be stopped abruptly, while even others state to stop it as soon as you are pregnant. With that kind of info, I will be running to the Ob to ask what I should do!

    Lurker here, your post title caught my eye. I stopped immediately after I conceived as that was what my OB recommended. I'd call if you need the reassurance, but I personally would stop.

    I was told by my acupuncturist to stop it once I got a BFP.
