Thank you for everyone's support and reassurance. We received even worse news today. Our baby's NT scan measurement was 4.5. I am scheduled for a CVS on Monday. The perinatologist thought that the risk for a chromosomal abnormality was worse than 1:5, and even if the CVS was normal, there was still a high risk for a congenital heart defect. He gave our baby odds of 10% for a normal outcome. I am absolutely heartbroken and devastated. The hopeful part of me is thinking that perhaps the doctor is a naysayer and gave us worse than expected outcomes. The other part of me is trying to come to terms with the 10% odds he has given our baby.

Fingers crossed for a good outcome for the CVS.
I think some good news is that a heart defect can be found before the babe is born, so they can come up with a treatment plan in advance. I've known people born with heart defects, and even though it wasn't easy on their parents to send their newborn off to surgery, they are healthy adults now.
::Hugs:: I hope everything turns out ok.

Here's hoping that the doctor was just being an alarmist.
I will be saying prayers that the NT scan screening was not completely accurate for you. Hoping the CVS brings you some much needed and deserved good news.
Saying many prayers.
