1st Trimester

1st trimester bleeding

Hi,

I am 6 1/2 weeks and as of yesterday had some dark red spotting. I had a m/c last November,so I know what to look for. As of right now I have had zero cramping or back pain. My first ultrasound is scheduled for next Wednesday. I called my dr and he said not to worry since I have had zero cramping, it is hard not too.

A little history of me, my husband and I did a round of IVF with our 3 yo daughter and everything went perfect. Since last November we have lost a baby and had an unsuccessful frozen transfer. This pregnancy is from another fresh IVF. Cycle, I am keeping my fingers crossed for a heart beat.

How many of you have had or are having spotting and still saw a heart beat.

 Anything helps,

 Heather

  • I too have had a m/c and while I can't say I've seen the hb yet (I have my first u/s on Tuesday) I did have some red spotting for over a week.  I had my hcg levels checked two weeks apart and the numbers were still rising.  I had to go on progesterone and my spotting stopped immediately.  I totally understand the worry, and let's face it, that worry isn't totally going to go away until the baby is safely in our arms, but I would try to keep the stress at a minimum.  Take care and a h&h baby to you!

I have had spotting and bleeding in all of my pregnancies.  My 2nd did end in miscarriage, but the bleeding was from weeks 6-9, I miscarried at 14.

Bleeding sucks, but isn't always a big deal.  FX that everything is okay!

  • i spotted at 5 weeks then had about 12 hrs of full bleeding.. we heard the heartbeat that following tues.... i started spotting again last night and im 8 1/2 weeks... im not going to be too concerned or at least try not to.. im gonna be resting the whole weekend, and i suggest you should as well..

  • Thank you everyone,

it has always been a dark red followed by brown and it never lasts too long and it is on and off. I am taking it very easy today. Hopefully we will see a heartbeat on wednesday and than I will feel much better.

It is amazing how each pregnancy is different.

  • no since of worrying til wednesday, why dont you call your doctor monday and see if they can fit you in sooner.

  • i had a mc in april so was freaked out when i had red(not pink) spotting last sunday.  my dr's office was able to get me in for an ultrasound this past week at 6 weeks 2 days and got to see and hear the heartbeat.  so although i'm relieved, i'm still very much on edge because of the previous mc...hoping this anxiety will pass once i can feel the baby move.

  • Glad I saw this post.  I just went in and had some light pinkish spotting.  It is sunday afternoon and I have no clue what to do.  I had some cramping this am but I thought it was gas and I have back pain right now.  My first dr's appt is in 1wk, but now I am wondering if I should be heading to the ER to get checked out?
