Think about what you will be using the stroller for. We do a lot of walking in our neighborhood, by the beach and at the grocery store and mall. I wanted a stroller that handled well all terrain so I got the Bob jogger and love it. Most strollers have a way to attach an infant seat so you don't have to get the travel system that goes with yours. A lot of people also like to use a snap and go stroller when LO is in an infant seat. Go take some strollers for a test drive at BRU. Also, think about how soon you plan to have a second child. I kind of wish I had originally gotten something like the Baby Jogger City Select which can be a single or double since my LOs will be so close in age.
I really liked having a travel system. I had an Evenflo one and it is pretty easy to maneuver, fold, etc. I just liked being able to grab the carrier out of the car and pop it into the stroller.
We loved our travel system from Graco. It folded nicely and wasn't heavy IMO. The ability of snapping the car seat onto the stroller and not disturbing a sleeping baby was a HUGE help many many times. We had to sell it to upgrade to a double, though, for this baby. :
ETA: we also kept a cheap umbrella stroller around once DD was older, that was very convenient for quick trips and travel.
We have two strollers. We have a BOB jogger (great for everywhere) with the infant car seat attachment/snap and go insert. We also have a Maclaren Quest umbrella stroller for the mall, traveling, etc.
ETA: Check out the book Baby Bargains. It's great.

When we had DD, we got the Graco travel system. While it was great when she was in her infant carseat, as soon as she went to a convertible carseat I was sick of lugging the huge stroller around and bought a Chicco umbrella stroller. I hated all the space that the travel system stroller took up...just my opinion though. I think this time, we are going to go with an infant seat and a snap and go stroller, and then get a double stroller for both when this baby outgrows the infant seat.
I'm a FTM, so I don't really have any recommendations based on experience, but the strollers I have been looking at are the City Mini and the Britax B ready. I'm leaning towards the City Mini.
I'm so confused for car seats. When I get a convertible I am going to get the Britax Marathon, but I think for infant seat we might get the Chicco 30 Key fit or the Britax B Agile.
I got a travel system, but regretted it. An infant seat and a snap n go is smaller and lighter and easier to use. IMO, you probably will want something to snap the car seat into.
We have been using our nice Maclaren umbrella stroller for quite some time now.
If I could do it over again, I would have gotten a Baby Jogger City Select and then just bought the double kit for this LO. It's really expensive, but it would have broken up the cost, though.

I have the chicco key fit car seat and the bumble ride flyer. I love all of the features of the flyer that aren't part of a travel system. Once DS was older we also bought a bob. The bob handles so light and we use it for off road walking and jogging. The bumble ride is still our go to for the mall, etc. I think we will get the bob duallie for the 2u2 we will have.
I'm a FTM, so no experience to tap into, but we are going with a Baby Jogger City Mini stroller, and getting the adapter (it's like 30 bucks extra for the adapter) so that we can stick the Graco Snugride infant seat in there.
I'm a FTM so I can't speak from experience but based on all of my research online and from reading Baby Bargains, we've decided to get a Snap N Go stroller to go with our infant carrier. We'll also get the BOB or something similar for neighborhood walking and jogging.
All I know so far is that I really want a stroller with a bassinet attachment. I hate the idea of having an infant sit in an infant carseat, and then remain in that same position/seat when moved to their stroller. I want them to be able to lay flat and stretch out when in the stroller as an infant. Even if that means moving a sleeping baby. *gasp*
After talking to friends, I think we are going to get the uppababy Cruz. It has an infant insert, lies flat, and I can snap a car seat into it. I will probably get an umbrella stroller for things like travel and football games :. We are debating between the Chicco and Graco carseats.

Depending on how much you want to spend, the PegPerego travel system you can get the attachable bassinet (they have it on buybuybaby.com. I think the whole thing costs around $1050. We are looking at the Quinny (my grandparents are buying it for us or else we wouldnt be getting it) and you can get a cute little bassinet attachment for it too. SOOOO CUTE! Its a really great minimalist stroller and has some great features. We feel sooooo lucky that they are getting this for us.

Was at babiesrus yesterday and im looking for that Britax bready as well unfortunately they don't have it in store. I would like to see it in person first before I order. Same with you I like the bassinetts too, I like the idea where the baby can lay flat when I take her to walk for her morning nap. I got that idea when I was a nanny in Europe and my host mom used the Bugaboo Cameleon but it's way too expensive so I made a research and Britax is closer to what Im looking for. I also like the option where I can put the baby in stroller facing me so i can see her while she sleeps.

We jumped the gun and purchased the B Ready & B Safe infant car seat because amazon.ca was having their Free Ride event. We tested out both at Babies R Us before though & were really happy with them. It's too bad they didn't have the B Ready in stock at your store, did you try calling around to see if a different store had it? I know the store we went to didn't carry the Britax Chaperone infant car seat which we had also wanted to try out but it turns out the B Safe car seat barely fit in our vehicle and the Chaperone is supposed to be even bigger so it all worked out in the end!
I found the bassinet attachment on Kijiji (the Canadian version similar to your 'craigslist') and I'm hoping to go see it this week. It sells for $170 here in Canada so I really hope this one is in good shape because it's only $60!
