At two months and a little before three months I tried a swing-to-crib transition and both times failed miserably. I took some wise bump mommy advice from some of you to just try again later, and he will transition when he is ready.
SOOOOO, in the last two weeks he's had this crazy sleep regression that everyone else is seemingly struggling with as well. I thought what the hell, he is up anyway, let's try this crib transition again. I also ordered the magic sleepsuit two weeks ago. I have been having him sleep in the swing the past week with the suit and that transition went just fine...he was breaking out of his swaddle, so the suit resulted in slightly less night waking, less restlessness and fussing. So last night was the first crib night with the suit. He had two less wakeups than he's been averaging the last two weeks. Also, he self soothed himself back to sleep one of the wakings (which he has NEVER done). Lastly, with the other two failed attempts when swaddled and seemed to be SO restless in the crib. With the suit, he looked so comfy, was not restless and seemed so relaxed. When he was waking in the night he was fussing, but not thrashing about like he did in the swing or crib with the swaddle. Lastly, it took him a long time to settle when swaddled when I picked him up to feed. With the suit he was instantly calm when picked up and fell asleep much more quickly than he has lately.
In conclusion, I don't have perfect proof the suit works and could all be coincidence, but thought I would share the transition and suit story since it appears there are other moms going through this crib and/or swaddle transition as well. Good luck mamas:)
