  Try heat, and hand expressing until you get a letdown. I know when I'm engorged the pump has a hard time with getting a let down.

  My LO is in his 4 month wakeful period and has been easily distracted and eating less. He now prefers my right breast to my left. (It has always been the other way around up to a few days ago.) Anyway, last night, I was so engorged and LO was already asleep after eating from the right. I tried to pump both sides but only got very little from the left. The left breast was really hard and painful and I couldn't relieve it by pumping. Does this mean I have a plugged duct? Also, I tried massaging etc and it did not work. I was in so much pain. 

  Any suggestions and has anyone else experienced this? 

  Gosh, our LOs are way too similar! She is preferring my right side too, but I always alternate for feedings.

  Can you regulate your pump settings? I would play around with it to see if it helps get milk from the engorged side. Also massage as you pump.

  Crushed cabbage leaves in my bra. I have struggled with oversupply since day one, so I'm not concerned as most as killing my supply.
