DH and I agreed on Camilla for our baby girl. Love it.
Here's the problem. I adore the nn Millie, which was one of the reasons I like the name in the first place. He says he hates Millie and will never use it. He likes Cami (which I do not like) and he will call her Cami or Camilla.
So now I suppose we would potentially be calling our daughter two different nicknames. Should we go back to the drawing board?
Re: Name conundrum.
LFAF Summer 2016 Awards:
i think it's fine. we have essentially 2 NN for our daughter, MH calls her something i never do, and it's not a big deal. however, our 2 NN sound more alike than Cami and Millie, so i can see where that MIGHT be a concern.
that said, i LOVE the name and completely agree with you--i'd call her Millie. in fact, we are using Kamilla (my grandmother's name) as a middle name for this upcoming baby, and considered it for a first name as well.
I don't think it matters either that you have 2 NN for your daughter-- just don't be surprised if one of them "sticks" and the other doesn't.
Camilla is a beautiful name.

No way, don't give up so easily!! Camilla is a gorgeous name as there's zero issue with your DD having different NNs!
Our DD is Eliza, and I call her Liza, DH calls her Ellie, and the ILs call her E. Makes no difference to me! Once she's old enough to have a preference, she'll pick one and tell us to stop using the rest I'm sure.
This, if you both love the name Camilla then use it. NN's shouldn't be an issue because you may never find another name you both love as much.
I don't think you need predetermined nn's before she's born, and if you both agree on Camilla, then just go with it. You may end up calling her something that has nothing to do with her name (we call my DD2 Cupcake, for instance), or you might feel like one nn suits her better. Also, have you considered Mila?
DH and I have different nn's for DD3 that are based on her name, Adriana. I call her Adri and DH calls her Ana, and it's NBD.
This.
